Semmering is located on the eastern edge of the Alps and has a direct connection to the Semmering expressway. By train you travel comfortably from Vienna or Graz via the southern railway line. Directly with the Railjet or more comfortable with the regional express.

RUFbus
Flexible, convenient, and car-free travel through the Semmering-Rax region
With the RUFbus, you can travel flexibly, conveniently, and car-free to over 140 stops in the Semmering-Rax region. We’ll take you to train stations, tourist attractions, daily errands, accommodations, hiking trailheads, and much more. Between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., you can use the RUFbus in the following municipalities: Schwarzau im Gebirge, Reichenau an der Rax, Payerbach, Gloggnitz, Schottwien, Semmering, Breitenstein, Prigglitz, and Raach am Hochgebirge
With the free RUFbus app, you can book your trips individually and conveniently. Download the app, register, and you’ll have access to trips between over 140 stops.
